Lak Lake, Central Highland, Vietnam

Bim Bip waterfall botanical walk

It’s a small valley oriented in the East-West axis that sinks into the mountain range of Yang Tao. And deeper in the Cu Yang Sin (cf post about the space of Gong culture). A stream winds in the hollows of the valley before diving into Lak lake. Its name comes from a common bird here: the coucal, in Vietnamese Bìm bịp. Black bird of the cuckoo family, without its parasite behaviour, you’ll recognise him easily with its copper wings and certainly by its rather big size and its hoarse singing.
At LAK Tented Camp, we offer you to dive in the discovery of this small valley during a sensitive walk. Beyond cultivated areas, you can immerse yourself in the rain forest and its flora, so different from tempered countries. Here is the kingdom of vines, epiphytes (plants growing on the trunks of trees), orchids, and all kinds of mosses, ferns, lichens in peaceful shades of green, in the sticky heat tempered by the water lapping.
At the end of this hike, a haven of peace, an oasis: a waterfall, ideal place for a nap, bathing, picnic. Surrounded by this impressive vegetation, with the help of our guides, you will have as much time as wished to tame and taste this diferent environment, unveil the secrets of this jungle. But I don’t say no more and let you enjoy a few photos from this walk, a visual foretaste of the atmosphere awaiting you.
