1. What is the best time to visit LAK?

Dak Lak weather is markedly divided into two seasons: rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season lasts from May to October with high amounts of rain. The dry season lasts from November to April the next year. Thus best time to travel to Dak Lak is from November to February for those who like the sun without extreme temperatures.

Beside this, weather is changeable quickly within a day, and even in the hot days, you can still enjoy fresh air in the morning or afternoon. Last but not least, Dak Lak is a rather cool province within Vietnam, and if you don’t fear some rain, then Lak is enjoyable all year round, Lak Tented Camp will provide its best services whatever the weather is like.

2. What should I take in my luggage?

Weather may change during the day, even in hot or cold days, thus please take some light and warm cloths. You may participate in many activities, walking, trekking, cycling, boating and require proper attire.

LAK Tented Camp encourage sustainable practice. Please avoid using plastic bag, single-use plastic bottle, chemicals…

3. Should I bring my own set of toileteries?

Towels are provided. Soap, bath gel and shampoo are proposed in refillable dispensers instead of unidoses which create too much plastic waste. We don’t set toothbrush or toothpaste in the tents, however in case you forgot yours, we shall provide it for you at the reception upon request.

4. Is there air-conditioning in all rooms?

Air-conditioning is available in Bungalows’ master bed rooms and Lakeview Tents, in addition to electric fan. However, we recommend you use air-conditioning with discretion in favor of environmental protection. In no case should AC be set below 25oC.

For the tents, it will be a bit hot around noon time, and really cool and airy in the morning and evening, an electric fan is enough. During day time, if guests are not going on excursions, they can enjoy the breeze from the balcony or relax at the Y LAK lounge and bar.

5. How’s about telephone, wifi, mini bar and TV?

We value more back-to-nature moments thus TV, telephone is not set up in rooms. In Bungalows, there is complimentary mini-bar.

There is water bottle, tea & coffee making facilities. We shall supply daily 1 liter of water in glass bottle. This water is produced from well water, treated by reverse osmosis, which is the most efficient technique known nowadays to obtain a high quality drinking water. Thus, not only this water is 100% pure: no bacteria, no viruses, no parasites, but it also has a great taste due to its low mineralization. Our osmosed water can compete with any plastic bottle mineral water, without its flaws. You can fill your bottles in our water mill at the bar, reception lounge for free.

6. Is there any room service 24/24?

Due to the nature of the Tent and to avoid disturbance by insects, we strongly warn guests do not bring or leave remainder of food in tents. Our bar and restaurant is opened till late and not far from the tents, guests can walk down to enjoy fresh food and chat with local team.

We have a Snack Bar at the reception lounge, which offer a great choices of drinks, food, fruits at affordable price.

Nevertheless, we offer Afternoon Tea Service, with fruits, tea, coffee, drinks right at your room. Please request at the Reception or Y LAK Restaurant.

7. Does LAK Tented Camp organise other tours and transfer?

Our tour division, Highlands Trails Co., Ltd, is capable and licensed to operate all Tours and Transfer upon request, from Kontum, Pleiku, Nha Trang, Da Lat. If you are independent travelers, we recommend you to contact us before hand to handle your tour and transfer smoothly.

8. Is it safe to stay there with kids? What is your Child Policy?

Due to the nature of the property and the activities, Lak Tented Camp is more comfortable for children above 6 years old. However, little kids are still welcome if the parents take fully charge of their children’s health and safety.

We have many space and activities for kids to explore, learn and enjoy with parental guidance

Children below 6 years old, sharing same bed with adult will be free of charge. Children from 6 to 11 year old is charged 50% of adult’s rates.

9. What language can staff speak? What if I travel with my own guide?

Our local staff and managers speak Vietnamese, English and M’Nong and some can speak French.
If you travel with guides speaking other languages than English, French, then we will assist for your guide to join you during day time excursions without any fee. Due to limited inventory, we cannot host (escort) guides of the Tour Operator on Lak Tented Camp but may assist to find appropriate accommodation for him/her in town, if requested.

10. What food do you serve?

Y Lak restaurant: a spacious inside room, two waterside terraces for alfresco dinners, offers authentic Vietnamese food. We have some western dishes, kids friendly menu on a-la-carte basis.

Breakfast is normally a-la-carte with healthy choices. In high occupancy days, there will be a buffet corners with more variety. Beside, we provide tasty picnic lunches and typical dishes for cooking class and BBQ dinner.

11. Is there any other places we can eat?

There are some local eateries and touristic restaurants in town. However it is not convenient for you to cross the lake or walk a certain distance just for food. Once staying at LAK Tented Camp, we are confident that Y LAK Restaurant offer you the best dining experience in an exclusive and charming space.

12. Where do I park my vehicle?

Please read more “How to get there” for more information. We have a parking in Lien Son town near Bao Dai boat pier.

Now with a new road access directly to LAK Tented Camp on land, you can drive directly (motorbike or car only) and park at the back the ecolodge.

13. What is the biggest group size that you can welcome?

We have 15 Lakeview Tents, 4 bungalows and a collective/dormitory Tents of 8 berth. We can accommodate comfortable for 50 guests at a time.

Beside, we have spaces for camping. With special requests and arrangements, LAK Tented Camp could welcome company groups up to 70 guests.

14. What are potential dangers and your safety measure?

LAK Tented Camp is an eco-lodge in open nature. You may see insects, mosquitos, gecko, snakes… Please follow our advices to keep the tents or bungalows well closed and bring the flash with you when walking out at night.

All staff at LAK Tented Camp are trained with First Aid and capable to deal with minor accidents.

The Public Health Center of LAK is 10 minute away or we can take you to Buon Ma Thuot City’s hospital in case of emergency.
