Y LAK Restaurant K’Pan benches

Do you know the K’Pan benches? These long massive impressive benches made from a single solid piece of fine wood are a master piece of M’Nong and Ede’s long houses, up to 15 m long. Not only they reflect pride and wealth of a family, but also they’re due to attract luck and health to the house, its family and visitors, provided the K’Pan has been made and set according to the tradition. The choice of the tree, its blessing, its cutting, its carving, its position and then the K’Pan welcome ceremony are precisely codified for this operation to be fully accepted by the Gods.
Willing to promote and protect M’Nong traditions, we have installed 2 of these K’Pans in Y LAK Restaurant, conforming to the welcome ceremony ritual including offerings and a dinner which was a joy and meaningful party after the significant effort needed to set the wooden pieces upstairs.
From this day, we are proud to invite our guests to sit on these K’Pans full of history for attending a gong show, for a drink or for a delicious nap protected by the Gods
